“Michel BRAS” mandoline wins the Red Dot Design Award 2015

Combining superb sharp cut and beauty, the mandoline has won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 this spring.

The Red Dot Design Award, which is bestowed by the Design Center Nordrhein Westfalen, is one of the most prestigious prize among the many internationally renowned design awards. For Product Design Award 2015, a jury comprising 38 experts examined nearly 5,000 entries from 56 countries. Their selection based on design, functionality and other strict criteria such as ergonomics and ecological compatibility, only left room for truly outstanding products to be honored with a prize.

“Michel BRAS” mandoline received very high reviews for its functional aspects and beauty. The five interchangeable blades made of high-quality steel that can be used separately or in combination to create a wide variety of cuts attracted huge interest in terms of a versatile tool.

Michel Bras and all those involved in the production of the mandoline are very proud of winning the award and they are looking forward to develop even more beautiful and outstanding products.

Winning products will be on display at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen for one year. And from 29 June to 26 July, they can also be viewed at a special exhibition held at the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, a World Heritage site.

Winner of German Design Award and Design Plus Award

“Michel BRAS” mandoline has also won German Design Council’s German Design Award 2015 as well as Messe Frankfurt’s Design Plus Award.
